Job Title: Automation Test Engineer (Java)

Location: Wilmington, DE (Onsite)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in Java-based test automation and API testing . The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automated test solutions to ensure high-quality software delivery. This role requires close collaboration with development, product, and QA teams while supporting continuous testing within Agile and CI/CD environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts using Java, Selenium, Cucumber, Playwright, JUnit, and TestNG .
• Build and execute automated API test suites to validate application functionality and performance.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Git .
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
• Enhance test automation coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.
• Create and maintain test documentation, test plans, and automation standards.
• Execute manual testing when automation is not feasible.
• Monitor quality metrics and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Research and adopt new testing tools, frameworks, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Testing, QA Automation, or related technical roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java-based automation frameworks .
• Expertise in API automation testing using tools/frameworks such as Playwright, Rest Assured, JUnit, TestNG, or Selenium .
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver and Cucumber BDD .
• Strong understanding of BDD/TDD methodologies and test automation best practices.
• Experience working with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Maven, Git , and version control systems.
• Knowledge of automated and manual testing processes.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with Python is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing high-volume transactional or enterprise applications.
• Exposure to cloud-based environments and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with test reporting and quality metrics tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
