Automation Tester

Position

Our client, a well known banking institution in Luxembourg is searching for an Automation Tester to join them on a consulting basis, initially for 6 months.

The selected consultant will support IT project delivery by designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure software quality and reliability. The role will focus on automating test scenarios, improving test coverage, and supporting efficient software releases in collaboration with developers, manual testers, and QA teams.

Main Responsibilities

• Review business requirements and identify opportunities for test automation.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts.
• Perform automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and reusable components.
• Analyse test results, investigate failures, and report defects.
• Collaborate with developers and QA teams to improve test coverage and resolve issues.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
• Maintain test documentation and report testing progress.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as an Automation Tester or Test Automation Engineer.
• Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Knowledge of functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• French & English speaking is required

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience with API test automation tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira or Xray.

• Contributions to improved test coverage, automation efficiency, and software quality.
