Automation Tester- Mid Level: Playwright & TypeScript

About the role

We are looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer – Automation Tester with strong hands-on experience in test automation using Playwright and TypeScript. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts while also performing manual testing to ensure the quality, reliability, and functionality of applications. The role will primarily focus on 60–70% automation testing and 30–40% manual testing, working closely with developers, QA engineers, and other technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and TypeScript
• Build and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks
• Create automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Execute automated test suites and analyze test results to identify defects and potential issues
• Perform manual testing for functional, exploratory, regression, and user acceptance scenarios
• Prepare and maintain test cases, test scenarios, test scripts, and test data
• Identify, document, track, and validate defects using appropriate defect management tools
• Investigate test failures and work closely with developers to identify and troubleshoot root causes
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to understand requirements and define appropriate test coverage
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable

About you

• 3–5 years of experience in Software Testing / QA / Test Automation
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright
• Strong programming/scripting experience using TypeScript
• Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts
• Experience with End-to-End (E2E), functional, and regression testing
• Solid understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
• Hands-on experience with manual testing
• Experience in identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects
• Good understanding of test case design and test execution
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
