Role Description The Automotive and GPS Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining automotive telematics and GPS tracking devices in a variety of vehicles, ensuring accurate data transmission and system reliability. Day-to-day activities include diagnosing hardware and wiring issues, performing repairs or replacements, verifying signal quality and device performance, and updating firmware or software as needed. The technician will also document installation work, maintain accurate service records, and communicate clearly with supervisors and clients about project status or technical findings. Collaboration with the operations and support teams to troubleshoot field issues and continuously improve installation standards is an important part of this position.

Qualifications

• Strong practical skills in automotive electrical systems, including wiring, circuit testing, and safe use of diagnostic tools.
• Hands-on experience with GPS tracking devices, telematics hardware, and related mounting, routing, and configuration practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, installation manuals, and vehicle schematics to perform accurate installations.
• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for identifying and resolving hardware, cabling, and connectivity issues.
• Basic understanding of networking and communication protocols used in telematics (e.g., cellular data, GPS signals, and IoT connectivity) is an advantage.
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety, quality, and company installation standards in on-site work environments.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and explaining technical findings in clear, simple terms.
• Previous experience as an automotive electrician, telematics installer, or GPS technician is highly beneficial.
• Relevant technical certification or diploma in automotive technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work reliably on-site in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, including field visits to customer locations when required.
