Automotive Controller

Sydney Mazda is a local Import Automotive Dealership that is committed to providing the best customer service experience and to solidify ourselves as a trusted destination for everything automotive for employees and customers.

We are currently seeking a Controller to join our team. As an integral part of the Mazda team, this position is responsible to monitor the financial health of the dealership.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Prepare a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership and factory guidelines as well as annually

· Ensure that all manufacturer accounts are current and accurate

· Manage overall financial operation of the dealership

· Review and oversee day to day accounting functions including payroll, AP and AR

· Year end audits plus GST/HST filing preparation and payroll remittances

· Manage dealership computer system to maximize efficiency and integration.

· Handle property and liability and process all claims

· Work closely with department managers and attend meetings

· Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as lending institutions, external accountants, tax authorities and others

Requirements:

· Bachelor Degree in Accounting or equivalent with strong technical accounting skills and understanding of accounting guidelines

· CPA or equivalent is an asset, not required

· Proficiency working with a dealership management system and payroll management programs

· Experience managing and leading team members

· Strong communication skills

· Strong attention to detail, organized and analytical

· Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

· Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
