What they need

Automotive Receptionist / Service Advisor

Savins Radiator Service are looking for a friendly, organised and confident Automotive Receptionist / Service Advisor to join our busy and growing workshop team.

This is a key front-of-house position and would suit someone who enjoys working with people, can keep on top of a fast-paced workload and has an interest in the automotive industry.

As the first point of contact for our customers, you’ll play an important role in keeping the day running smoothly — from booking vehicles in and preparing job cards through to communicating with customers, coordinating with our technicians and finalising completed jobs.

We are a well-established, independent automotive workshop carrying out a wide variety of work including general mechanical repairs, diagnostics, brakes, suspension, radiators, exhausts, 4WD upgrades and more. No two days are quite the same, and you’ll be working closely with both our customers and workshop team.

About the Role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting customers and providing friendly, professional service
  • Answering phone calls, emails and customer enquiries
  • Booking vehicles in and managing the workshop schedule
  • Accurately recording customer concerns, vehicle details and repair requirements
  • Preparing and maintaining job cards
  • Liaising with technicians throughout the day regarding job progress and additional work required
  • Keeping customers informed about the progress of their vehicle
  • Preparing estimates and communicating repair costs to customers
  • Obtaining customer approval before additional work is carried out
  • Ordering and following up parts when required
  • Preparing invoices, processing payments and completing vehicle handovers
  • Providing customers with information regarding recommended maintenance and future repairs
  • Following up outstanding quotes, bookings or customer enquiries
  • Maintaining accurate customer and vehicle records
  • Helping keep the front office organised, presentable and running efficiently
  • Supporting the wider workshop team with general administration as required

About You

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, approachable and switched on, with the confidence to communicate with customers and work alongside a busy team of technicians.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to prioritise when things get busy
  • Confidence speaking with customers both in person and over the phone
  • Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems
  • Strong attention to detail when entering customer, vehicle and job information
  • The ability to communicate clearly between customers and technicians
  • A basic understanding of automotive terminology and vehicle repairs — or a willingness to learn
  • A professional, friendly and positive attitude
  • The ability to work independently while also being part of a close-knit team
  • A practical, common-sense approach to problem solving

Attitude is important to us, If you have strong administration and customer service experience, are genuinely interested in the automotive industry and are willing to learn, we would still love to hear from you.

What We Offer

  • A Monday–Friday role with no weekend work (3pm finish on a Friday)
  • A varied position where you won’t be doing the same thing all day
  • A friendly, down-to-earth workshop environment
  • The opportunity to work with an experienced automotive team
  • Exposure to a wide variety of vehicles and repair work
  • A stable position within a long-established local business
  • Training and support to develop your automotive knowledge
  • A role where you can genuinely become an important part of the day-to-day running of the workshop

If you’re someone who enjoys dealing with people, thrives in a busy environment and likes the idea of being part of an independent automotive workshop, we’d love to hear from you.
