We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Refinish Technician to join our high-production collision center team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring repaired vehicles to their pre-accident aesthetic condition. You will handle all aspects of the automotive refinishing process, including surface preparation, precise color matching, paint application, and final detailing. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering flawless finishes, prioritizes strict safety protocols, and works seamlessly with body technicians and estimators to meet daily production deadlines. Key Responsibilities

• Review repair orders and paint estimates to fully understand the scope of work for each vehicle.
• Inspect completed body work for quality and completeness before initiating the refinishing process.
• Clean, sand, block, mask, and prime repaired vehicle panels and parts.
• Utilize computer-based color matching software, spectrometers, and spray-out cards to achieve exact OEM color matches and blends.
• Mix primers, sealers, base coats, and clear coats precisely according to manufacturer specifications.
• Operate and maintain down-draft spray booths, spray guns, and personal protective equipment, including PAPR or respirator systems.
• Apply paints, waterborne basecoats, and clear coats evenly, ensuring no runs, sags, or dry spots.
• Blend paint into adjacent panels to ensure unnoticeable transitions and a uniform finish.
• Bake and cure paint finishes according to specific paint system timing and temperature rules.
• Inspect cured finishes, buff out minor dust nibs or imperfections, and polish panels to a factory-quality shine.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in both the mixing room and the spray booths.
• Properly handle, store, and dispose of hazardous waste materials in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an automotive refinish or paint technician in a collision repair facility.
• Proficient in advanced masking, sanding, priming, blending, and top-coat application techniques.
• Deep understanding of automotive paint chemistry, including experience with modern waterborne paint systems.
• Expertise with computerized paint mixing scales, color tinting, and spray gun maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail with high quality control standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight production schedules and collaborate effectively with a team.
• Valid driver's license and a clean, insurable driving record.

Preferred Credentials

• I-CAR Platinum or ASE Refinish Certification.
• Graduation from an accredited automotive collision or refinish technology program.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Capacity to wear required personal protective equipment, including full-face respirators, for hours at a time.
• Good manual dexterity and excellent color vision.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
