Automotive Service Advisor — Strip District Auto Repair (Opening Soon)

Help open a brand-new shop — without starting from scratch.

Strip District Auto Repair is opening soon in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. This is our second location. We’ve spent 15 years building a successful independent shop, and we’re looking for a Service Advisor who wants to help launch this store the right way: honest estimates, clear communication, and customers who come back because they trust us.

What you’ll do

• Greet customers, listen to the concern, and write a clear, accurate repair order.
• Explain diagnostics, recommended repairs, and maintenance in plain language — including estimates and why the work matters for safety and reliability.
• Present options without pressure. Integrity is non-negotiable.
• Coordinate with technicians so work is prioritized and finished on time.
• Keep customers updated on findings, extra work, and completion times.
• Handle service writing, cash/credit transactions, and a clean paper (or digital) trail.
• Use estimating software and shop systems to quote work accurately.
• Recommend maintenance that actually helps the vehicle (oil, tires, inspections, manufacturer-recommended service) — not a canned upsell list.

What we’re looking for
Required:

• Experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or in auto service management (dealership or independent shop)
• Working knowledge of common repair and maintenance procedures
• Strong customer communication — you can explain technical work without talking down to people
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Preferred:

• Service writing, estimating, and cash-handling experience
• Comfort with shop management / estimating software
• Experience in an independent shop (not required, but a plus)
