As a Service Manager, you'll oversee daily service department operations, develop and motivate your team, and ensure repairs are completed efficiently while maintaining high standards for quality and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands dealership service operations and knows how to build a strong, productive team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily service department operations, including workflow, scheduling, technician productivity, and overall performance.
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop Service Advisors, Technicians, and support staff to meet department goals.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, including labor sales, productivity, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and department profitability.
  • Ensure repair orders are managed effectively, work is dispatched appropriately, and vehicles are completed in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Service Advisors and Technicians to resolve customer concerns and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor labor sales, expenses, warranty procedures, and department performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate with the Parts Department to support repair workflow, parts availability, and timely vehicle completion.
  • Maintain compliance with manufacturer requirements, dealership policies, and applicable safety standards.
  • Conduct team meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing training to maintain accountability and improve results.
  • Work closely with dealership leadership to develop strategies that improve customer retention, department growth, and profitability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education or automotive training preferred.
  • Previous automotive dealership service management or fixed operations leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, improve technician productivity, and drive service department profitability.
  • Strong understanding of dealership service operations, repair order workflow, labor sales, warranty procedures, and manufacturer standards.
  • Ability to analyze performance reports, identify opportunities, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to handle escalated concerns professionally.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary plus monthly performance-based commission.
  • Earning potential tied to service department performance, profitability, and results.
  • Opportunity to grow your career within an established automotive group.

Schedule

  • Full-time position with a five-day work week.
  • Schedule based on dealership hours and business needs.
  • Some evenings and Saturdays may be required.

Benefits

  • Affordable Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family.
  • Competitive 401(k): Build your future with our retirement savings plan.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Includes paid holidays and vacation after 90 days of full-time employment.
