Automotive Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on various vehicle systems using automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to identify issues accurately.
• Repair and maintain powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drivetrain systems, ensuring optimal vehicle performance.
• Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs, wheel alignments, and steering system diagnostics to enhance safety and handling.
• Interpret automotive wiring diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems such as automotive electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and other vehicle electronics.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to complete repairs efficiently and safely.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and GM vehicles with a focus on quality workmanship and adherence to manufacturer standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly, estimating costs accurately, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.

Requirements

• Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.
• Solid mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including powertrain, transmission, suspension, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance.
• Familiarity with automotive wiring diagram interpretation, schematics, and the use of automotive diagnostic tools.
• Hands-on experience with vehicle transmission system repair, vehicle alignment procedures, and diesel engine repair is highly desirable.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and automotive wiring diagrams accurately.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive maintenance tools.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
• Service technician experience in a dealership or similar environment is preferred; auto estimating skills are a plus.

Pay: $25.00 - $60.00 per hour
