Entry-Level Automotive Mechanic / Technician

Frank’s Auto Repair: | Manasquan, New Jersey, | Full-time | Pay Range. $19-$25/hour, depending on experience

About Us

Frank’s Auto Repair is an independently owned and operated shop serving Monmouth/Ocean Counties since 1983. We work on domestic and import vehicles and trucks and are known for honest service, fast turnaround, and friendly team. We are looking for someone starting their career who wants to learn the trade and grow with us.

The Role

You'll work alongside experienced technicians, handling routine maintenance and repairs while building your skills. This is a hands-on role with training, and a clear path to advance as you learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil and fluid changes, tire rotations, and tire mounting and balancing
• Inspect brakes, suspension, belts, hoses, batteries, and lights, and report findings
• Assist with brake jobs, diagnostics, and other repairs under senior technician guidance
• Perform multi-point vehicle inspections and document results accurately
• Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and safe
• Follow shop safety procedures and manufacturer service specifications
• Communicate with service advisors about work status and any additional issues found

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and hand tools
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, and to stand, bend, and work in tight spaces for long periods
• Reliable transportation to work
• Own basic hand tools

Preferred (Not Required)

• Automotive program, vocational school, or trade school coursework
• Prior shop, parts counter, or hands-on repair experience
• ASE student certification or entry-level ASE certification
• Familiarity with diagnostic scan tools

• Pay: $19-25 hourly, with reviews at 90 days

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work is performed in a shop setting with exposure to noise, fluids, and varying temperatures. Role involves lifting, kneeling, and use of power and hand tools.
