Job Summary
We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Automotive Technician to join our workshop team at Tony Le Voi in Lakeside.
You’ll be joining an established, experienced team where we take pride in doing a good job and looking after our customers. The role will involve everything from routine servicing and maintenance through to fault diagnosis and more complex repairs across our Vauxhall and Jeep vehicles.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a team and, most importantly, wants to do the job properly. In return, you’ll have the opportunity to continue developing your skills with manufacturer training and the support of a team that knows the motor trade inside out.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment and technical information, and identifying the appropriate repair
- Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs to a high standard
- Servicing vehicles in line with Vauxhall and Jeep manufacturer schedules and procedures
- Carrying out vehicle inspections and accurately recording any faults or work required
- Road testing vehicles where required to diagnose faults or confirm successful repairs
- Recording all work completed and job times accurately, either manually or electronically
- Following the correct procedures for ordering parts and returning warranty components
- Attending vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
- Working closely with colleagues across the workshop, Service and Parts departments
- Supporting and sharing knowledge with other members of the workshop team where appropriate
- Maintaining and developing your technical knowledge as vehicle technology evolves
- Attending Vauxhall and Jeep manufacturer training as required
- Following all relevant health and safety procedures and workshop standards
Qualifications
- A Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent recognised automotive qualification
- Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician in a workshop environment
- Good mechanical and technical knowledge across vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, including experience using diagnostic equipment and technical information
- A good understanding of modern vehicle systems and technology
- The ability to work accurately and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- A full UK driving licence
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a workshop team
- A reliable, organised and professional approach to your work
- A willingness to continue developing your technical skills and undertake manufacturer training
Previous Vauxhall, Jeep or manufacturer dealership experience would be an advantage, but isn’t essential.
If you’re an experienced Vehicle Technician looking for your next opportunity, we’d be pleased to hear from you. You’ll be joining a friendly, experienced team in an established family-run dealership, with the support and training to continue developing your skills.
If you take pride in your work and want to be part of a team that genuinely cares about doing a good job for its customers, we’d love to hear from you.
