TNS Automotive – NOW HIRING: Experienced Automotive Technician / Mechanic

TNS Automotive is looking for a highly skilled, professional automotive technician to join our team.

We're not looking for a parts changer—we're looking for someone who understands diagnostics, takes pride in their work, and can accurately identify and repair problems the first time.

What We're Looking ForExperience

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience working in a full-service automotive repair shop (dealership or independent shop).
• Proven experience performing complete vehicle diagnostics and repairs.
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
• ASE Certifications are preferred but not required if your experience speaks for itself.

Diagnostic Skills Required

We are specifically looking for technicians who can diagnose problems—not just replace parts.

You should be confident with:

• Electrical diagnostics
• Engine performance diagnostics
• Check engine light diagnosis
• ABS, traction control, and stability control systems
• Steering and suspension diagnostics
• Brake system diagnostics
• Cooling system diagnostics
• HVAC diagnosis and repair
• Charging and starting system testing
• CAN bus and network communication diagnostics
• Drivability concerns
• Intermittent electrical problems
• Using scan data and live data to pinpoint failures
• Reading wiring diagrams and service information
• Following diagnostic procedures instead of guessing

We want technicians who understand why a component failed before replacing it.

Mechanical Skills

You should be comfortable performing:

• Engine repair and replacement
• Timing components
• Water pumps
• Head gaskets
• Suspension and steering repairs
• Brake service
• Wheel bearings
• Axles
• Transmission removal and installation
• Cooling system repairs
• Fuel system repairs
• Preventative maintenance
• General automotive repairs on domestic and import vehicles

Tools Required

Applicants should have their own professional-quality tools, including:

• Complete metric and SAE socket and wrench sets
• Air and cordless power tools
• Torque wrenches
• Specialty hand tools
• Professional diagnostic equipment is a plus
• Reliable toolbox suitable for daily professional use

Shop-provided specialty equipment and major diagnostic tools are available.
