Automotive Technician

Job Overview
Local Utility Company in Geneva is searching to hire a full-time Auto Tech to join our team. We are not looking for a level A tech. Our ideal candidate must have their own tools and bring one year experience with oil changes, working on brakes, and other preventative maintenance experience. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team to ensure all vehicles and machinery are operating efficiently and safely. Willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, and powertrain inspections.
• May travel to pick up parts with company vehicle when needed.
• Respond to any service calls in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Maintain records on all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Track recalls, inspection dates, and warranties for all vehicles.
• Clean and maintain the garage area and equipment.
• Utilize a wide variety of hand and power tools.
• Ensure that all proper safety gear and/or equipment is used whenever necessary.
• Check board daily for sheets turned in by staff reporting any mechanical issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.

Skills

• Automotive Certification (preferred not necessary)
• Experience with general shop equipment (tire machine, lifts, wheel alignment machine etc.)
• Familiarity with diagnostic equipment.
• Possess all necessary tools to work in a shop.
• Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving
• Familiarity with automotive electrical systems and their components helpful.

Valid NYS Driver's license required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
