Automotive Technician-Inspector

Job Summary

The objective of the Independent Contractor – Automotive Technician-Inspector is to travel to repair facilities in your area to verify mechanical failures.

Duties

• Travel to repair facilities in your area to verify mechanical failures.

Experience

• Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance
• Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years hands on automotive repair experience, ASE or equivalent Manufacturer Certifications.
• Hands-on experience operating standard passenger cars and familiarity with their mechanical systems
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment effectively
• Experience performing vehicle inspections is highly desirable

Computer and Phone System Requirements:

• Smartphone with ability to receive text messages and monitor email.
• Computer with internet access.
• Experience with web-based applications a plus.

Working Conditions / Physical & Mental Demands:

• The physical demands described here are representative and must be met by the independent contractor to successfully perform this job.
• 100% travel is required within designated working territory based on the location of assignments received.Normal office or field claims environment.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle for up to 8 hours daily, repeatedly entering and exiting the vehicle. Must be able to make physical inspections of auto loss sites.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.

Skills & Requirements/Licensure:

• Ability to take high-quality photos and video, valid driver's license and some basic tools required.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
