We are a growing automotive sales business looking for a skilled and dependable Automotive Technician / Mechanic to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical vehicle issues using diagnostic equipment and hands-on troubleshooting
• Inspect vehicles to identify necessary repairs, maintenance needs, and potential safety concerns
• Perform general automotive repairs and maintenance, including oil changes, brakes, suspension, batteries, tires, tune-ups, and other common repairs
• Diagnose engine, transmission, electrical, braking, steering, and other vehicle system concerns
• Perform pre-sale inspections and help ensure vehicles are safe and ready for sale
• Clearly document inspections, diagnoses, repairs performed, and parts needed
• Provide accurate recommendations regarding necessary repairs
• Help establish efficient shop procedures for inspections, repairs, parts, documentation, and vehicle status tracking
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Properly use and care for shop tools and equipment
• Work with management to prioritize vehicles and keep repairs moving efficiently

Qualifications

• Previous professional automotive repair or technician experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair
• Ability to diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts
• Comfortable using automotive diagnostic tools and scan equipment
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair jobs
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Dependable, punctual, and organized
• Valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Automotive technician training or trade school education is an asset
• ASE certification is an asset but not required
