Autonomous Driving System Simulation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Autonomous Driving System Simulation Engineer to join our growing R&D Center in Melaka. In this role, you will be responsible for building, integrating, and validating simulation platforms (MIL/SIL/HIL/DIL) for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD). You will bridge vehicle dynamics, sensor modeling, and virtual testing scenarios to ensure high-fidelity verification of smart driving controllers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and integrate virtual test environments including Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) systems
• Develop and calibrate simulation models for perception sensors (Camera, LiDAR, Radar, Ultrasonic, GPS, V2X) and establish vehicle dynamics models
• Create data-driven and synthetic virtual test scenarios (edge cases, typical driving conditions, and end-to-end perception validation)
• Interface simulation software with real ECU hardware/HIL test rigs; troubleshoot communication, signal conversion, and timing bottlenecks
• Work closely with algorithm developers, system engineers, and test teams to analyze test results and drive defect resolution

About you

• Bachelor's degree or above in Vehicle Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
• Solid understanding of vehicle dynamics, vehicle electronic control systems, and basic automotive communication/network principles
• Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Python for algorithm scripting and toolchain development
• Experience with ADAS/AD simulation platforms (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, CARLA, PreScan, VTD, CarSim, Carmaker, or ROS/Linux environment)
• Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop test benches (e.g., dSPACE, Speedgoat, Opal-RT, or Vector HIL systems)
• Familiarity with the working principles, structure, and signal output of ADAS sensors (LiDAR, mmWave Radar, Camera)
