AV Installation Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Audio Visual Technician to join our team here in Melbourne, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audio and visual technology, with hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AV systems. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and excellent problem-solving skills to ensure seamless operation of audio-visual equipment for various installations both in the United States and abroad.

Responsibilities:

• Provide labor to install and or service a variety of audio-visual equipment for simulators, control rooms, conference rooms, churches, and other applications.
• Duties may include but are not limited to: installation of low voltage A/V systems, pulling cable, installing connectors, projector and display mounting/hanging (ceiling mounts) support structures, fixtures and metal fabrication assemblies.
• Assist with mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring.
• Possess attention to detail toward record keeping, shipping, and QC documentation.
• Work independently and with assigned system management to complete the planning, integration, testing, and customer acceptance of the assigned project within the time, and budget parameters of the job, in a quality conscious manner.
• Communicate any problems, issues, concerns, or system failures back to management. Contribute solution ideas for install, process, or repair situations.
• Stock vehicles and deliver equipment with associated responsibilities.
• Travel and work at various job sites throughout the U.S. and occasionally, globally.
• Maintain shop and worksite organization/cleanliness.
• Continuous learning about new products, technology and integration techniques.
• Ability to conduct business on behalf of Electric Picture Display Systems, Inc. with integrity and professionalism at all times, particularly while working on job sites or in the presence of customers whether working independently or as part of a team. This includes, but is not limited to, appropriate attire, verbal communications, workmanship quality, jobsite conduct, and customer etiquette.

Job Requirements:

• US Citizen.
• Able to travel up to 6 weeks at a time (rare). Average trips are 1-2 weeks, 4-6 times per year.
• Eligible for customer or gov’t clearances.
• HS Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License with disclosure of traffic violation history.
• Working knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
• 2 years related installation, connectivity, and troubleshooting experience.
• Basic Computer literacy skills and control systems programming familiarity.
• Aptitude to read and understand drawings and blueprints.
• Be able to lift up to 40 lbs periodically using safe lifting practices.
• Be comfortable climbing up to heights of 15’.
• Be able to work safely from a ladder rated for maximum working load of 300lbs. including all tools and equipment.
• Be comfortable working in crawlspaces and attics.
• Must pass background check.
• Must pass employment drug screen.
• Must pass safe practices and safety exams as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in related field or commensurate experience
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of networking infrastructure and configuration
• CTS Certification
• Relevant certifications for programming and field work (Extron, Crestron, Dante, Q-SYS, etc.)
• Ability to operate a forklift and pass certification test.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
