AV Installation Technician

Overview

Responsibilities

• Install audiovisual equipment including audio systems, video conferencing systems, control systems, cabling, and mechanical components according to schematics and blueprints.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams related to AV system installation and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot AV system issues using tools such as voltmeters, network analyzers, and software diagnostics to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently.
• Configure and program control systems for AV integration, ensuring smooth operation of audiovisual devices in various environments.
• Conduct routine maintenance on installed systems to optimize performance and extend equipment lifespan.
• Assist with live event AV production projects by setting up, operating, and troubleshooting audio/video equipment in real-time scenarios.
• Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and technical support during installation and post-installation phases.

Experience

• Proven experience working in the AV industry with a strong understanding of AV system installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with low voltage wiring, cabling techniques, and electrical schematic reading.
• Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP), audio systems implementation, and video conferencing technology operation.
• Knowledge of computer networking principles as they relate to AV systems integration.
• Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers, and testing devices like voltmeters.
• Experience working on live event production projects or in field service roles involving AV system setup and troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and schematics accurately while adhering to safety standards.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients with varying levels of technical knowledge.

Pay: $40.00 - $65.00 per hour
