What they need

Position Description: Service. Reliability. Expertise. And a Little Showbiz.

For over 50 years, KVL has been a trusted leader in audio visual services and event technology. From boardroom presentations and executive meetings to tradeshows, conferences, galas, and large-scale live events, we provide the people, equipment, and expertise that help our clients shine.

We’re looking for polished, proactive AV professionals who know how to keep the show running smoothly — and make it look effortless.

Preferred Experience

We review all resumes, but candidates with experience in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply:

Hotel or corporate in-house AV

Hotel or corporate freelance AV

Convention centers, trade shows, sporting arenas, and premier event venues

Hospitality, meetings, conferences, and live event environments

Operational & Technical Expectations

The ideal candidate will bring 1–2 years of AV management experience in a hospitality-related setting, such as hotels, convention centers, conference centers, or meeting facilities.

Responsibilities may include:
Assisting the Director of Event Technology with daily hotel AV operations

Supporting and supervising AV technicians

Building strong working relationships with hotel management, venue staff, clients, event planners, and KVL leadership

Managing technician schedules and helping ensure proper event coverage

Maintaining clear communication before, during, and after events

Staying calm, organized, and solution-focused when timelines are tight and expectations are high

Sales & Client Support

We’re looking for someone who understands that great AV is not just about technology — it’s about trust, service, and communication.

Key expectations include:
Generating new business opportunities within the hotel and surrounding market

Prospecting, soliciting RFPs, preparing quotes, and following up with clients

Providing thoughtful recommendations based on client needs and event goals

Delivering exceptional customer service from first conversation through final strike

Maintaining a strong attention to detail throughout the sales and planning process

Equipment & Inventory Management

This role may also help oversee AV equipment inventory and logistics, including:

Coordinating, sourcing, and negotiating cross-rentals

Ensuring rented equipment is returned safely and on time

Communicating with other KVL properties regarding available inventory

Managing incoming and outgoing equipment logistics

Helping ensure gear is event-ready, accounted for, and properly maintained

Technical Knowledge

Candidates should have a general to advanced understanding of core AV disciplines and be comfortable stepping in when needed.

Audio

Basic to advanced understanding of audio systems

Ability to assist with or take over basic audio operation on analog and digital mixing consoles when necessary

Video

Basic to advanced understanding of video systems

Ability to assist with or take over basic video operation, including switching, projection, and graphics support when necessary

Lighting

Basic to advanced understanding of lighting systems

Ability to assist with or take over basic lighting operation, including dimming, spotlighting, stage washes, and uplighting

Understanding of how lighting can enhance a room’s mood, texture, and overall guest experience

Professional Expectations

The right candidate is calm under pressure, professional in every interaction, and ready to jump in wherever needed.

We’re looking for someone who brings:
A polished, client-first attitude

The ability to work diligently and professionally under tight run-of-show deadlines

Respectful communication with clients, venue teams, hotel staff, and coworkers

VIP-level customer service; VIP event experience is a plus

Strong attention to detail — because in live events, even the smallest hiccup can make a big impact

A team-player mindset from setup to showtime to strike

Experience with hotel, corporate, or hospitality event operations

About the Role

At KVL, no two days — or events — are exactly the same. One day you may be supporting an executive meeting, the next you may be helping bring a ballroom gala or multi-day conference to life. If you enjoy fast-paced environments, solving problems in real time, and being part of the team behind unforgettable events, this could be a great fit.

Bring the service. Bring the reliability. Bring the expertise. We’ll bring the spotlight.

Other offers great for you!
