About Us
Toowoomba Turf Club operates Clifford Park Racecourse, the largest racing venue on the Darling Downs. With over 40 race meetings a year, plus corporate functions and private events, we’re a hub for racing, hospitality, and memorable experiences.
Join a passionate, professional team that takes pride in delivering standout events - on and off the track.
About the Role
As our new Audio-Visual Technician, you'll help support race day operations and events across our venue. From setting up equipment and managing cabling through to troubleshooting technical issues, you'll play an important part in ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Offered on a part-time basis, this position provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain practical experience in networking, IT, communications or audio visual technology.
How You Will Do This
- Support the setup, operation and maintenance of audio visual and technology systems
- Install and manage cabling throughout the venue
- Assist with data networking and RF communication systems
- Troubleshoot technical issues and identify practical solutions
- Prepare equipment and systems for race meetings and events
- Learn and operate industry-specific racing technology
- Maintain records and documentation using Microsoft Office
- Work closely with the wider team to ensure successful event delivery
About You
Technology interests you, but you're also happy to get your hands dirty when the job requires it.
You enjoy figuring out how things work, solving problems and learning new systems. Equally comfortable working independently as part of a team, you take pride in being reliable and getting the job done.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- An interest or experience in IT, networking, audio visual technology, communications or a related field
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Confidence using computers and Microsoft Office applications
- A practical, hands-on approach to work
- The ability to perform physical tasks, including running cables and setting up equipment
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- A willingness to learn new technologies and industry-specific systems
Previous experience with networking, cabling, audio visual equipment or RF communications will be highly regarded, however attitude, reliability and a genuine interest in technology are just as important
Why You’ll Love It here
- Variety – Race days, events, and functions (no two weeks look the same)
- Great culture – Supportive leadership and a close-knit team
- Exciting environment – Be part of a thriving local events scene
