AV Technician – Control4 / Low Voltage

Defined A/V is a custom audio, video, home automation, networking, and security company based in Newbury Park, California. We design, install, service, and support technology systems in luxury residential homes and high-end environments throughout Ventura County, the Conejo Valley, Santa Barbara, Malibu, and Los Angeles.

We’re looking for an AV Technician to join our growing team.

We're looking for someone who has hands-on experience in low-voltage, AV, automation, or a related field. Control4 certification is a plus, but we're also open to the right person who is willing to learn.

The biggest thing we're looking for? A willingness to learn. You don't need to know everything on day one. Our systems can be complex, and technology is constantly changing. What matters is that you're curious, dependable, willing to ask questions, and motivated to learn.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and service Control4 automation systems
• Install and troubleshoot audio, video, home theater, networking, Wi-Fi, surveillance, and other low-voltage systems
• Pull, terminate, label, and troubleshoot low-voltage wiring
• Assist with Control4 programming and system configuration
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues in the field
• Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and project drawings
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Test systems to ensure everything is working properly before completing a project
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and team members
• Keep job sites clean, organized, and professional
• Continue learning new products, technologies, and installation techniques

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in AV, low-voltage, networking, security, automation, or a related field
• Control4 experience or certification preferred, but not required
• Strong willingness and ability to learn new technology
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Basic understanding of networking, cabling, and low-voltage systems
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and think through solutions
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical drawings
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently when needed
• Professional communication and a customer-first attitude
• Comfortable working inside high-end and luxury homes
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

You'll have the opportunity to work with Control4, high-end audio and video, home theaters, networking, security, lighting, and smart-home technology while continuing to build your skills in the field.

Pay: $27.50 - $32.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
