AV Test Engineer – ADAS / Parking & Safety

Location: Santa Clara CA

Duration: 12 month contract to hire

Focus: ADAS | Vehicle Testing | Test Development | Data Triage

Pay: $55 - $85 hr

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an AV Test Engineer to support one of our largest technology clients in the Bay Area. This position is focused on engineering-level testing and analysis of autonomous driving and ADAS software , particularly parking and active safety functionality.

This is not an AV Operator, Driver, or Test Specialist position . We are looking for engineers who understand the product they are testing and can take ownership of the testing process, from writing test cases and executing in-vehicle tests to analyzing the results and communicating findings to software developers .

Responsibilities

• Write and develop test cases for autonomous driving and ADAS features
• Perform hands-on in-vehicle testing of features such as lane changes, parking, and active safety functionality
• Execute test cases and collect vehicle/test data
• Analyze and triage data after testing to determine what went wrong and why
• Perform issue triage, root cause analysis, categorization, and reporting
• Communicate test results and software issues directly with development teams
• Provide feedback on software performance based on vehicle testing
• Develop documentation and tools to improve testing and issue analysis

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant engineering/testing experience
• Hands-on experience testing a product within a vehicle
• Experience with ADAS, autonomous driving, vehicle software, or similar vehicle features
• Experience writing and executing test cases
• Strong experience analyzing and triaging test data
• Ability to troubleshoot software-related vehicle issues and communicate findings to developers
• Experience working in Linux
• Understanding of vehicle systems and how software functionality is tested

Nice to Have

• Parking and/or active safety testing experience
• Python, Java, or another programming/scripting language
• Experience performing root cause analysis
• Previous experience as an ADAS Test Engineer, AV Test Engineer, Vehicle Test Engineer, Validation Engineer, or Triage Engineer
