Aviation Facilities Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY

Vertol Systems Company, Inc. (VSC) is seeking a motivated and dependable Aviation Facilities Assistant to support the daily upkeep of our aviation facilities in Destin and Crestview, Florida. This entry-level position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to be part of a professional aviation environment. The assistant will help maintain aircraft, hangars, facilities, offices, and surrounding grounds to ensure safe, clean, and efficient operations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs to aircraft, hangars, and other company facilities.
• Maintain the appearance of company grounds through mowing, trimming, landscaping, and general cleanup.
• Assist with painting, pressure washing, basic carpentry, and other facility improvement projects.
• Assist with moving equipment, supplies, and materials as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
• Travel between company locations to perform maintenance and support operational needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in facility maintenance, landscaping, construction, or a related trade is helpful but not required.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work is a plus but not required.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Occasional weekends as needed.
• Regular travel between VSC's Destin and Crestview facilities.

SALARY

$45,000 – $50,000 per year

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
