AVN Operator

Short Description

We are looking for an experienced AVN Operator to join our micro tunnelling team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring AVN slurry micro tunnelling machines, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate excavation while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

Function Description

• Operate and control the AVN 800 micro tunnelling machine with Container C30 during excavation activities.
• Monitor machine performance, guidance systems, slurry circuits, and excavation parameters.
• Maintain line and level accuracy throughout the tunnelling process.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and daily equipment checks.
• Identify and troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain production targets.
• Monitor excavation conditions and communicate any ground or operational concerns to the site management team.
• Assist with machine launches, breakthroughs, maintenance interventions, and cutterhead inspections.
• Ensure all production and operational records are completed accurately.
• Work closely with the Tunnel Foreman, Pipe Jacking Crew, and maintenance personnel.
• Follow all project HSE requirements, quality standards, and client procedures.

Requirements To be considered for this position, candidates should have:

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating AVN or similar micro tunnelling equipment.
• Strong knowledge of slurry micro tunnelling and pipe jacking operations.
• Experience with guidance systems, slurry treatment plants, and tunnel monitoring systems.
• Ability to perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on tunnelling equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in live production environments.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and operational procedures.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Relevant safety certifications (VCA, SCC, CSCS, or equivalent) are considered an advantage.
