We’re currently working with an organization seeking a senior-level Medical Malpractice / Healthcare Professional Liability claims professional to join a highly experienced and collaborative team handling sophisticated, high-exposure matters.

Location : Farmington, CT (preferred) | Atlanta | Boston | Chicago | Nashville | New York City | Philadelphia

• In-office 3-4 days per week

Salary Range : Up to $140,000 base | Depending on experience and location

About the Role

This AVP-level opportunity is ideal for an experienced Medical Malpractice attorney interested in moving in-house or a seasoned Healthcare Professional Liability claims professional seeking greater autonomy and complexity.

The role involves complex claims across areas including :

• Hospital primary and excess liability
• Long-term care
• Psychiatric malpractice
• Miscellaneous healthcare professional liability
• Complex coverage analysis and litigation management
• Mediation, negotiation, and claim-resolution strategy

Your Responsibilities

• Manage complex Medical Malpractice and Healthcare Professional Liability claims from initial notice through resolution
• Conduct sophisticated coverage analysis and evaluate claim exposure
• Develop litigation and claim-resolution strategies
• Manage relationships with defense counsel and other outside resources
• Lead mediations, negotiations, and settlement discussions
• Draft clear, technical coverage correspondence and claim documentation
• Collaborate with team members and share technical knowledge and expertise

Ideal Background

• 7–10+ years of experience managing complex Medical Malpractice litigation or Healthcare Professional Liability claims
• Strong coverage-analysis, negotiation, technical-writing, and defense-counsel management skills
• Experience handling sophisticated, high-exposure claims
• Medical Malpractice attorneys with significant litigation experience who are seriously considering an in-house claims career are encouraged to apply
• Collaborative, approachable leadership style with a willingness to mentor and share knowledge
