AVP/VP Surety West

For our client, we are seeking a AVP/VP Surety West to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will lead surety business development and underwriting activity across the West region, with a focus on building broker relationships and driving profitable new business. The position will partner closely with brokers and internal stakeholders to establish premium objectives, evaluate submissions, and support sound underwriting decisions. It will also help maintain portfolio performance, ensure accurate account data, and contribute to broader surety team success in a dynamic market environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with brokers to generate new business
• Establish premium objectives with brokers
• Review and negotiate submitted business for underwriting decisions
• Maintain accurate account information in electronic systems
• Monitor portfolio performance and respond to account changes
• Support the surety team and maintain accurate rate and commission data
• Attend industry events to support market associations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 7 years of surety experience
• Experience with surety underwriting practices and procedures
• Financial-oriented degree or background preferred
• Industry licenses or designations are desirable
