AWS Architect

Role Summary

We are seeking a senior AWS Solutions Architect to lead the end-to-end design, secure setup, and infrastructure deployment of our enterprise cloud environments and AWS AI platforms. In this pivotal role, you will be accountable for defining robust cloud reference architectures, engineering platform-wide security controls, and designing scalable solution frameworks using Amazon Bedrock. You will collaborate closely with AI engineers, security teams, and executive stakeholders to deliver production-ready, cost-optimized, and highly resilient cloud ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• AWS Platform Setup & Infrastructure: Define and implement enterprise AWS reference architectures, landing zones, and cloud standards, designing scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized infrastructure.
• Cloud & AI Solution Design: Architect production-grade solutions leveraging the AWS AI platform ecosystem (Amazon Bedrock, Anthropic Claude, Amazon Nova) alongside core cloud-native integration patterns.
• Advanced Security & Governance: Engineer end-to-end infrastructure and model security frameworks utilizing AWS Security Services, Identity and Access Management (IAM), VPC configurations, data protection controls, and prompt guardrails.
• Integration & Automation: Design API-led and event-driven architectures (API Gateway, EventBridge, Lambda, Step Functions) to seamlessly connect AI workloads with foundational enterprise data lakes and operational applications.
• DevOps & MLOps Governance: Establish strict Infrastructure as Code (IaC) engineering standards using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK, driving production-grade CI/CD and deployment frameworks.
• Technical & Delivery Leadership: Lead complex architecture governance workstreams across major cloud transformation programmes, identifying technical risks, and mentoring engineering delivery squads.

Technical Skills & Requirements

• AWS Cloud Infrastructure: Deep architectural mastery of core services including Lambda, ECS/EKS, EC2, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, Aurora, S3, Route53, and CloudFront.
• AWS AI & Data Tools: Hands-on proficiency with Amazon Bedrock, native Bedrock Agents, prompt engineering frameworks, and cloud vector database implementations.
• Security & Observability: Expert-level application of AWS IAM, VPC-SC equivalents, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and enterprise-grade encryption controls.
• Automation & Tooling: Proven track record with Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern Git-based CI/CD orchestration.

Required Experience

• Overall Experience: 12+ years of comprehensive technology infrastructure experience, with at least 5+ years dedicated exclusively to designing enterprise AWS solutions.
• Mandatory Certification: Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional credential is strictly required.
• Delivery Track Record: Demonstrated experience leading large cloud transformation programmes and moving production-grade AI platforms into live enterprise environments.

Pay: £550.00 per day

Work Location: Hybrid remote in London
