The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing team on a permanent or 12-month fixed-term contract basis. This is a remote-first, UK-based role, with occasional travel to London, likely around twice a month.

You will play a key role in designing, building and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions, working closely with architects, developers and security teams within a Central Government environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code , primarily using Terraform
• Deploy and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
• Build, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor, troubleshoot and improve the reliability and performance of cloud infrastructure
• Apply appropriate security controls and engineering best practices within highly regulated environments
• Collaborate with architects, developers and security specialists to deliver technical solutions
• Contribute to technical decision-making, engineering standards and continuous improvement
• Take ownership of technical solutions and support the development of robust, maintainable engineering practices

Essential Requirements

• Active SC Clearance – mandatory
• Proven experience delivering technology solutions within UK Central Government
• Strong hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer , working across cloud infrastructure and automation
• Strong experience with AWS , including services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, IAM, VPC and CloudWatch
• Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes , ideally AWS EKS
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines , using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and secure cloud engineering
• Experience working within Agile, multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of technical solutions

• Location: Remote-first, UK-based
• London travel: Occasional onsite travel, likely around twice a month
• Engagement: Permanent or 12-month fixed-term contract
• Clearance: Active SC Clearance is mandatory
