AWS Engineer

AWS Engineer designs, builds, manages, and optimizes cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services, focusing on scalability, security, and cost-efficiency, often involving automation, CI/CD (DevOps), IaC (Infrastructure as Code), monitoring, and collaboration with Dev and IT teams. Key duties include deploying services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS), scripting (Python/Bash), managing configurations, ensuring compliance, and troubleshooting, requiring strong AWS expertise and often DevOps skills.

This role combines deep technical expertise in cloud computing with strategic infrastructure planning to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions. Working at the intersection of development and operations, the AWS Cloud Engineer ensures high availability, optimal performance, and security compliance while implementing infrastructure as code practices and automation strategies. They play a pivotal role in driving cloud adoption, managing cloud resources, and establishing best practices for cloud operations across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

• Design & Deployment: Architecting and deploying scalable, secure AWS environments and services (EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, RDS, etc.).
• Automation: Implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like CloudFormation or Terraform, and automating deployments via CI/CD pipelines.
• Management & Optimization: Monitoring performance, minimizing costs, managing configurations, and ensuring high availability.
• Demonstrated expertise in core AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Lambda, with experience in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions at scale.
• Security: Implementing and maintaining cloud security best practices and compliance.
• Collaboration: Working with developers, architects, and IT to support applications and infrastructure.
• Scripting: Using Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Documentation: Creating technical documentation for cloud solutions.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Technical: Deep knowledge of core AWS services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Databases), scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus).
• DevOps: CI/CD, IaC, Configuration Management (Ansible, Chef).
• Soft Skills: Problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and staying updated on AWS services.
• Education/Certifications: Computer Science degree with relevant AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect) preferred.
