AWS Infrastructure Architect - Terraform Expert

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AWS Infrastructure Architect to design, build, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments. This role serves as a technical leader, driving infrastructure-as-code best practices and collaborating with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to support and scale our platform.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable, resilient AWS infrastructure aligned with business and technical requirements
• Lead the design and management of infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring consistent and repeatable deployments
• Establish and enforce cloud architecture standards, governance policies, and security best practices
• Evaluate and recommend AWS services to optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Lead cloud migration, modernization, and adoption initiatives
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical leadership and mentorship
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions; drive incident response and remediation
• Manage multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations, Control Tower, and Service Control Policies (SCPs)
• Maintain clear documentation, including architecture diagrams, standards, and runbooks

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or related roles
• 4+ years of hands-on AWS experience, including services such as EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, EKS/ECS, CloudFront, and Route 53
• 3+ years of experience with Terraform (modules, remote state management, and workspaces)
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, Transit Gateway, VPNs, Direct Connect, DNS)
• Proven experience implementing cloud security best practices (least-privilege IAM, encryption, secrets management, compliance frameworks)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline)
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or Go)
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect – Professional, DevOps Engineer – Professional, or equivalent)
• HashiCorp Terraform certification (Associate or Professional)
• Experience with Terragrunt for Terraform orchestration
• Familiarity with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux
• Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar)
• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization strategies
• Experience working in regulated environments (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, FedRAMP)
