ABOUT YOU

Do you enjoy working on data platforms, from data modeling to building cloud-based pipelines? Then this opportunity is for you.

You will join a team responsible for building and operating a new data platform on AWS. The platform is used by several domain teams to build their own data products. Your work will cover the infrastructure, the lakehouse and the catalogue, so that these teams can work safely and on their own.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Build and maintain the shared AWS infrastructure: accounts, networking and baseline configuration.
• Provision and automate domain environments with Infrastructure as Code, as versioned and tested modules.
• Manage identity and access: federation, role and group mapping, and Lake Formation permissions.
• Maintain encryption and audit controls, and support access reviews.
• Run the lakehouse layer: Iceberg tables on S3, orchestration and pipeline troubleshooting.
• Support the data catalogue: metadata standards, lineage and data product publishing.
• Set up monitoring, alerting and health checks, and take part in incident management.
• Manage platform releases with CI/CD, and automate recurring work so incidents do not repeat.
• Write clear documentation: designs, runbooks and release notes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of experience in Data Platform Engineering or similar roles
• Hands on experience building and operating production infrastructure on AWS, including networking.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), with a clear view of module design and how you test changes.
• Solid understanding of AWS IAM, identity federation and encryption.
• CI/CD for infrastructure and controlled release management.
• Observability you built and used during real incidents.
• Experience running containerised workloads or orchestrated pipelines in production.

• Lake Formation or Iceberg operations.
• Data catalogue and lineage experience.
• Workflow orchestration (Airflow or similar).
• Cost allocation and FinOps practice.
