AWS Solutions Architect – AI Builder Enablement

About the role

We are seeking a hands-on AWS Solutions Architect for a 3–6 month project helping business specialists build working, secure solutions with AI coding tools such as Kiro and Claude Code.

You will work alongside teams across finance, operations, supply chain, HR, and sales, connecting their business expertise with the AWS environment. You will coach non-engineers, co-build solutions, and establish practical safeguards for reliable deployment and ongoing ownership.

This role combines architecture, software development, and enablement. You should be comfortable writing code, deploying and debugging applications, and running workshops for people with little or no technical background.

What you will do

• Advise and co-build: Work individually and in small groups with business specialists to turn process challenges into working tools, agents, and automations using Kiro, Claude Code, and Amazon Bedrock.
• Build reference solutions: Prototype solutions end to end, including front end, APIs, data, infrastructure as code, and deployment, providing proven patterns others can reuse.
• Define security and governance guardrails: Establish sandbox account patterns, IAM boundaries, approved services, secrets management, and cost controls that allow non-engineers to build safely.
• Create reusable starting points: Develop and maintain templates, steering files, specifications, prompt libraries, and CDK or Terraform modules that make secure development practices easy to follow.
• Assess production readiness: Review solutions built by business specialists, determine readiness for production, and coordinate handover to engineering with clear ownership, documentation, and monitoring.
• Teach and coach: Lead workshops, office hours, and pairing sessions that help business teams build their AI development skills and work more independently.
• Evaluate tools and services: Assess AI developer tools and AWS AI services, recommending what to adopt, pilot, or avoid.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and building solutions on AWS, including at least 3 years in a solutions architect, cloud engineer, or similar role involving direct coding and deployment.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification or higher.
• Demonstrated ability to build software using Python or TypeScript, infrastructure as code with CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. You should be able to discuss solutions you have built and deployed.
• Practical experience using AI coding agents such as Kiro, Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot agent mode, or similar tools to deliver working software beyond demonstrations.
• Working knowledge of Amazon Bedrock and common generative AI patterns, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agents and tool use, prompt design, and evaluation.
• Knowledge of security and governance fundamentals, including IAM, least privilege, multi-account environments, secrets management, and cost controls.
• Proven ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences and help them develop independent capabilities.
• Professional English proficiency, both written and spoken, sufficient to lead workshops, write documentation, and advise senior stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

• Spanish proficiency to support Spanish-speaking teams.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or additional AWS certifications related to AI or machine learning.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud, including their AI services.
• Experience with spec-driven development or agent configuration, such as Kiro specs and hooks, Claude Code skills, or MCP servers.
• Experience working in or closely with business functions such as finance, operations, or supply chain.
• Experience establishing an internal developer platform, a low-code governance program, or a center of excellence.
