Azure AI Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Azure AI Engineer with strong expertise in building and deploying Generative AI solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience designing and implementing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, grounding Large Language Models (LLMs) with enterprise data, and developing scalable AI applications leveraging Azure AI services.

Required Skills

Generative AI & LLMs

• Strong experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI Service.
• Experience building enterprise-grade RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) applications.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, model grounding, hallucination mitigation, and AI evaluation techniques.
• Experience working with embeddings and semantic search.

Azure AI Services

• Azure OpenAI
• Azure AI Search (Cognitive Search)
• Azure AI Foundry / Azure AI Studio
• Azure Machine Learning (good to have)
• Azure AI Document Intelligence (good to have)

Data Grounding & Retrieval

• Experience implementing:

• Vector Search

• Knowledge Retrieval Pipelines

• Hands-on experience with Azure AI Search for indexing and retrieval of enterprise content.

• Experience grounding AI/LLM applications using governed enterprise datasets.

Database Technologies

• Strong experience with Azure Cosmos DB.
• Experience storing and managing vectorized data.
• Knowledge of structured and unstructured data processing.

Development Skills

• Python programming.
• REST APIs and Microservices.
• LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel (preferred).
• Experience integrating AI services with business applications.
• Git, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build enterprise GenAI applications using Azure services.
• Develop and optimize RAG pipelines for knowledge retrieval.
• Implement vector search and embedding-based retrieval mechanisms.
• Build AI solutions leveraging Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Cosmos DB.
• Ground LLM responses using governed enterprise data sources.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver scalable AI solutions.
• Monitor, evaluate, and improve AI application performance and accuracy.

Mandatory Experience

• 4+ years of overall software/data engineering experience.

• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in Generative AI/LLM projects.
