Job Description

looking for an experienced Azure Cosmos DB Developer with strong expertise in database design, performance optimization, scalability, and production support for large-scale enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing highly available, high-throughput Cosmos DB solutions and optimizing performance in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support scalable Azure Cosmos DB solutions.
• Implement effective data modeling and partitioning strategies.
• Optimize queries, indexing policies, RU/s consumption, throughput, and latency.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure high availability and reliability.
• Implement Change Feed processing and multi-region deployment strategies.
• Configure monitoring, alerting, and observability for Cosmos DB workloads.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and architecture teams.
• Support disaster recovery, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
• Work with Azure cloud services to support distributed and event-driven applications.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of software engineering and database development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Azure Cosmos DB experience in production environments.
• Strong expertise in Cosmos DB data modeling, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Experience with RU/s optimization, indexing policies, and Change Feed.
• Knowledge of multi-region distribution, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Experience with Azure Functions, App Services, AKS, Event Hubs, Service Bus, and Application Insights.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical applications.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with .NET or Java.
• Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
