Azure Database Engineer (Project Delivery) — Project-Based! Urgent

Goodman Tech BPO OPC (Philippines), part of Goodman Tech Solutions Inc. (Toronto, Canada), is looking for an experienced database engineer to deliver a short, well-defined project end to end for a North American client.

Compensation: ₱30,000–₱40,000 fixed for the project completion period

The work

• Confirm the technical requirements with a third-party software vendor: SQL Server version and collation, ODBC drivers, ports, service accounts, and outbound access to the vendor's cloud services, then produce a build specification for client approval
• Clean duplicate records from a live production database: take a verified backup, investigate the root cause, remove the duplicates in an agreed change window, validate the result with the client's end users, and roll back if the result isn't confirmed
• Provision and configure the database environment in Azure to the approved specification, connect it to the client's existing data, and confirm it's reachable from the client's on-premises network and workstations
• Validate a designated client workstation against the vendor's prerequisites and confirm coexistence with existing software, delivered as a short readiness report
• Configure backup, monitoring, and alerting, and document the environment
• Coordinate the vendor's installation session: provision time-limited vendor access on written authorisation, support the install, revoke access, and issue a written handover note
• Run the project: kickoff, scheduling across client and vendor, a short written status at the end of each week, and closure

Requirements

• 3+ years hands-on SQL Server / database administration with solid T-SQL
• Azure data platform experience: provisioning and securing Azure SQL, networking and firewall configuration, and hybrid connectivity to on-premises environments
• Disciplined production change management: verified backups before touching data, agreed change windows, tested rollback plans
• Excellent written English: build specifications, weekly status reports, and handover documentation go directly to the client
• Confident coordinating with software vendors and client contacts, and able to run a small project solo without hand-holding
• Available during North American business hours (Philippine night shift), with a stable home setup including backup internet and power

Advantages

• MSP or managed services background
• Production PowerShell
