Azure Engineer

Role Summary

The Azure Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure and solutions on Microsoft Azure. The role will involve cloud architecture, DevOps, infrastructure automation, migration, security, cost optimization, and operational support. The candidate will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure reliable deployment and ongoing management of cloud solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Azure cloud architecture, DevOps, infrastructure automation, migration, security, and cloud operations. They should be capable of working across technical teams, independently troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure issues, and designing solutions that balance scalability, security, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• The candidate will design and manage secure Azure cloud environments, including cloud account management, networking, and solutions aligned with the Azure Well-Architected Framework and established cloud design principles.
• The role will involve developing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure cloud architectures across public, private, and hybrid environments while ensuring that solutions are aligned with business objectives and technical requirements.
• The candidate will implement cost-effective cloud strategies and continuously monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization to improve efficiency and control cloud expenditure.
• The role will require hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM Templates to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management.
• The candidate will support cloud migration initiatives involving workloads moving from on-premises environments or other cloud providers to Azure, ensuring that migrations are planned and executed effectively.
• The candidate will implement and manage DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines to support efficient, reliable, and automated software delivery.
• The role will also involve ensuring that cloud architectures comply with applicable security and regulatory requirements, conducting security assessments and audits, and implementing appropriate security controls.
• The candidate will work collaboratively with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration, deployment, and operation of cloud solutions.
• The role will require advanced troubleshooting and technical support for cloud infrastructure issues, including identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to resolve operational problems.
• The candidate will monitor the health, availability, and performance of cloud infrastructure and contribute to the implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• The candidate should hold a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture and solutions.
• The candidate should have strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure and hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code technologies, particularly Terraform, along with knowledge of CloudFormation or ARM Templates, is expected.
• The candidate should have a solid understanding of cloud cost management and optimization strategies, as well as knowledge of cloud security best practices and applicable compliance standards.
• Relevant Azure certifications, particularly Azure Solutions Architect Expert, will be highly desirable. The candidate should also demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, along with effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
