Azure Engineering Lead

We are seeking an experienced Azure Engineering Lead to provide hands-on technical leadership across cloud engineering (Azure), DevOps, platform engineering, automation, and modern software delivery practices.

In this role, you will help establish engineering standards, improve developer experience, drive CI/CD and deployment automation, and create reusable cloud and platform patterns that support long-term organisational capability. This is a highly collaborative position requiring strong technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to balance strategic direction with hands-on delivery.

Key requirements:

• Strong Azure cloud engineering experience across application hosting, networking, compute, and environment design.
• Proven expertise in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and release engineering.
• Experience with GitHub, GitHub Copilot and/or Azure DevOps.
• Ability to define and implement engineering standards, tooling, and reusable patterns.
• Track record leading engineering initiatives across multiple teams in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.

Desirable:

• Experience in regulated or enterprise environments.
• Microsoft technology stack and .NET experience.
• Experience with cloud-native applications, APIs, platform modernisation, and AI-assisted engineering practices.

Contract Details:

• Initial 6-month contract
• Wellington preferred, with hybrid working available
