About the Opportunity

Our client, a New York–based strategy and consulting firm, partners with mid-market and pre-IPO growth companies. Many of these companies build fintech-style products for niche markets such as agriculture, healthcare/life sciences, retail and restaurants. Most run on Microsoft (M365, Azure, Data Factory, Fabric, Power BI) and pull data from many places: payment platforms like Stripe and Clover, Microsoft 365, ERP and operational systems. They’ve outgrown BI-only reporting. They want cloud-native applications that show, in one place, how the business is really running, with AI on the roadmap.

You’ll be the hands-on architect who makes that happen. You’ll design the solution, stand up the Azure environment it runs in, work directly with client teams to get the data right, and build the application on top. You’ll work across several client engagements, mostly over video, with a senior consulting team behind you.

What You’ll Do

• Translate a client’s business problem into an Azure solution design, and explain the architecture and tradeoffs to business and IT stakeholders.
• Stand up app development infrastructure from the ground up in client environments: dev/test/prod environments and Azure App Service / Functions / Container Apps ; Infrastructure-as-code (Bicep or Terraform) and CI/CD (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) ; Entra ID, managed identities and Key Vault, plus logging and monitoring
• Partner with client teams to map their data sources and define the transformations and calculations needed to represent the business accurately.
• Build data integrations and pipelines across multiple sources: SaaS and payment APIs (e.g., Stripe, Clover), Microsoft 365, Azure Data Factory / Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL or Cosmos DB.
• Deliver the application layer (APIs and a web front end with operational dashboards) using modern frameworks and AI-assisted development tools.
• Help clients explore practical AI use cases (e.g., Azure OpenAI) on top of their data.
• Research quickly and independently. Azure changes constantly, so you’ll need to know where to look and how to validate an approach.

What You Bring

• 8+ years in technology, with a real software development foundation (5+ years hands-on building applications). Your path since may include architecture, data/analytics, AI, security, presales or consulting, and we value that mix.
• Recent hands-on experience building, deploying and running applications on Azure, including app hosting, IaC, CI/CD and identity/security.
• Experience integrating and transforming data from multiple systems into something the business can use.
• Confidence in front of clients: you can lead a working session with executives and IT teams and explain technical design in plain language.
• Ability to own a build end to end with minimal hand-holding.

• Microsoft Fabric, Power BI or Tableau; Azure Data Factory / Synapse
• Payments / POS / fintech integrations (Stripe, Clover, Square, Toast, Plaid) or ERP data
• React/TypeScript (or similar) front end; C#/.NET, Node.js or Python back end
• Azure OpenAI / AI Foundry; AI-assisted development (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor)
• Cosmos DB, Microsoft Graph / SharePoint
• Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-204, AZ-400, DP-600)
• Consulting, presales or solutions-engineering background
