B4 Chargeman (33kV)

About the role

Supervise the operation, inspection and maintenance of high-voltage electrical installations, including 33kV switchgear, transformers, substations and associated equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections to ensure electrical systems operate safely, reliably and efficiently
• Perform preventive maintenance and coordinate corrective maintenance for high-voltage electrical equipment
• Monitor the operating conditions of electrical installations and identify any abnormalities, faults or potential hazards
• Carry out switching operations on high-voltage equipment in accordance with approved procedures and authorization requirements
• Ensure proper implementation of electrical isolation, earthing, lockout/tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work procedures before maintenance activities
• Diagnose electrical faults and coordinate troubleshooting, repair and restoration works
• Inspect and monitor transformers, circuit breakers, protection relays, cables and other high-voltage components
• Ensure electrical protection systems, interlocks and safety devices are inspected and tested according to the maintenance schedule
• Maintain accurate records of switching activities, equipment inspections, maintenance work and electrical incidents
• Respond to electrical emergencies, equipment breakdowns and power supply interruptions, and coordinate appropriate recovery actions

About you

• Possess a valid Chargeman Certificate of Competency issued by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) - B4 Chargeman 3kV
• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant working experience
• Ensure all electrical works comply with applicable Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements, company procedures and electrical safety standards
• Coordinate with contractors, maintenance personnel and relevant departments during electrical servicing, testing and shutdown activities
