About the Family:

A family in Upper Queen Anne is seeking a warm, experienced nanny to care for their curious and active 16-month-old son. They value a parenting approach rooted in connection, empathy, and consistent boundaries, with a focus on raising a confident, kind, and independent child through gentle guidance and positive reinforcement.

Their son loves books, music, climbing, water play, and exploring the world around him. The family prioritizes screen-free days, plenty of outdoor time, and creating opportunities for learning through play. They are looking for a nanny who understands toddler development, enjoys this busy stage of childhood, and can confidently navigate big emotions with patience, consistency, and kindness. An appreciation and understanding Mandarin culture is a wonderful bonus.

Nanny Requirements:

The ideal candidate has strong toddler experience and a solid understanding of early childhood development. They should be dependable, patient, and engaging, with the ability to foster language development through conversation, reading, music, and play while encouraging curiosity and age-appropriate independence.

Primary responsibilities include attentive toddler care, planning walks and outings to nearby parks and playgrounds, meal preparation for the child, diapering and hygiene, and child-related cleaning and tidying. A calm, nurturing presence and open communication with the family are important for this role.

Schedule & Details:

Care is needed Monday through Friday, approximately 20-30 hours per week.

Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. (flexible for the right candidate)

The family is hoping to find a nanny who can make at least a one-year commitment.

The position offers guaranteed hours and will be paid through Poppins Payroll. The family will comply with Washington State paid sick leave requirements (1 hour per 40 hours worked).

We provide support with contract review and negotiation, help ensure expectations are clear and fair from the start, and offer ongoing support throughout the entire contract, not just during the hiring process.

Desired Qualifications:

2+ to 5 years of experience

Caring for 1 child at a time

High school degree

First Aid Training, CPR Training

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
