Role Description This is a contract, on-site Back End Developer role based in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area. The Back End Developer will design, build, and maintain server-side applications and APIs that support web and mobile solutions for IDstar’s clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and scalable code, integrating databases and external services, and ensuring application performance, security, and reliability. The role involves collaborating closely with front-end developers, QA engineers, and project managers to deliver features on schedule, troubleshoot issues, and participate in code reviews and technical discussions. The Back End Developer will also help improve development processes, contribute to technical documentation, and support continuous integration and deployment practices.

Job Description

• Design and implement high-performance microservices using Golang
• Develop and maintain RESTful or gRPC APIs
• Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL
• AI-assisted development: Copilot, Claude
• Implement message brokers such as Kafka or Pulsar for asynchronous processing Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decisions
• Facilitating pair programming sessions to improve code quality and knowledge sharing
• Identifying potential edge cases and technical debtCollaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments
• Investigating production issues quickly and implementing fixes
• Self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience as a Backend Developer or Golang Developer.
• Strong programming experience using Golang (Go Language).
• Hands-on experience working with PostgreSQL database.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum development methodology.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willing to join ASAP
