Back End Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Developer with strong experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and services. The role requires strong programming fundamentals, hands-on experience with modern backend technologies, API development, databases, microservices, and cloud environments.

Experience or exposure to data engineering is a significant advantage , as the role involves working with data-centric systems, analytics platforms, and data-intensive applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and applications .
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and web services for internal and external applications.
• Build and maintain microservices-based architectures and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including database design, queries, optimization, and performance tuning .
• Implement secure, reliable, and high-performance backend solutions.
• Integrate applications with third-party systems, services, and APIs.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture/design decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, Data Engineering, and other technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and application monitoring.
• Maintain clear technical documentation for backend services and APIs.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on backend development experience using Java, Python, or Node.js .
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles .
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, microservices, and web services .
• Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle .
• Good understanding of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or similar technologies .
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices .
• Hands-on exposure to Docker and Kubernetes .
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP .
• Strong understanding of application scalability, performance optimization, security, and system design.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Good-to-Have – Data Engineering Exposure

• Experience or exposure to ETL/data pipelines .
• Familiarity with Kafka, batch processing, or stream processing .
• Understanding of data lakes and data warehouses , including Snowflake or open-source platforms.
• Experience working with real-time data flows and event-driven architectures .
• Basic understanding of data modelling and analytics platforms .
• Experience integrating backend services with data/analytics applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field .
• 6+ years of professional experience in backend development .
• Proven experience building and maintaining scalable, production-grade backend applications and services .
• Experience working with large-scale systems and distributed/microservices architectures .
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
