Backend Software Developer (PHP/Laravel)

About the role

We’re looking for a Backend Software Developer to join our product and engineering team.

You’ll primarily work with PHP and Laravel , building and improving the services and APIs behind Tekmon's enterprise SaaS platform. You’ll develop new product capabilities, improve existing functionality, refactor and optimize code, and take features from development through to production.

We use modern development and AI-assisted coding tools to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing, and problem solving. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable adopting these tools while maintaining strong engineering standards.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and system architecture.
• Build new product features used by Tekmon customers internationally.
• Integrate Tekmon with third-party platforms and services through APIs.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and technical research.
• Own your work from implementation through deployment and production.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience with PHP.
• Experience with Laravel is highly desirable.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL; PostgreSQL experience is a plus.
• Understanding of REST APIs and modern backend development practices.
• Experience with Git/version control .
• Familiarity with modern AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar.
• Ability to work autonomously, solve problems, and learn new technologies quickly.
• Professional written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with SaaS or enterprise software.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automated testing, or containerization.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM services or APIs into software products.
