We are currently looking for a Senior Back-end Software Engineer (Java / Spring Boot) to join our team.

🚀 The project

Join an international project focused on the design, development and maintenance of secure, scalable back-end applications and APIs for a major European organisation.

You will contribute to the development of Java-based solutions, implementation of business logic, integration with external services and optimisation of database performance. The role also involves API security, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments and collaboration with international teams.

📌 Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent (EQF Level 7) + 5 years of IT experience; OR Bachelor's degree (EQF Level 6) + 7 years of IT experience; OR secondary education + 12 years of IT experience.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in IT systems within the Mobility/Transport and/or Energy sectors.
• English B2 or higher, both written and spoken.
• 5+ years of professional experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful web services, relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle or MySQL) and containerisation technologies, particularly Docker.
• Strong knowledge of back-end application architecture, business logic and scalable software design.
• Experience designing, developing and documenting REST APIs, ideally using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Knowledge of database performance optimisation, query design and indexing.
• Experience integrating back-end applications with front-end components and external services.
• Knowledge of API security, including input validation, authentication, authorisation, token management and access control.
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and pipelines.
• Experience with Docker and fundamentals of cloud deployments, serverless technologies and managed Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
