We are looking for Backend Engineers to build the core infrastructure that powers ETDOX.

Job Description

As a Backend Engineer, you will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs. You will work closely with frontend, data, AI/ML, infrastructure, and product teams to build reliable financial technology systems.

You will have ownership over APIs, core services, business logic, data access layers, and the command/function registry that powers the ETDOX terminal.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable REST and gRPC APIs.
• Build backend services using Python/FastAPI and related technologies.
• Develop business logic and core platform services.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases and queries.
• Build APIs for financial data, analytics, portfolios, research, and user services.
• Develop and maintain the ETDOX command/function registry.
• Integrate backend services with data pipelines and AI/ML systems.
• Implement authentication, authorization, validation, logging, and error handling.
• Optimize backend performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Write unit and integration tests.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Work with DevOps engineers to deploy and monitor production services.
• Contribute to technical documentation and engineering standards.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Python
• Experience with FastAPI or similar backend frameworks
• Strong understanding of REST APIs
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL
• Understanding of backend architecture and software engineering principles
• Knowledge of Git/GitHub
• Good understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms
• Ability to write clean, maintainable and testable code
