Backend Developer

About the role

This is a Backend Development role focused on developing, maintaining and improving backend systems, applications and APIs. You will design and manage databases to ensure system performance, reliability and data integrity, and develop and integrate APIs with websites, mobile applications and third-party platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve backend systems, applications and APIs
• Design and manage databases to ensure system performance, reliability and data integrity
• Develop and integrate APIs with websites, mobile applications and third-party platforms
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, bugs and system errors
• Ensure backend systems are secure, scalable and optimized for performance
• Work closely with Frontend Developers, Mobile App Developers, UI/UX Designers and other departments
• Assist in system testing, deployment, maintenance and technical improvements
• Maintain proper technical documentation for backend systems, APIs and databases
• Research and implement suitable technologies to improve system functionality and efficiency

About you

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
• Experience in Backend Development is preferred
• Good understanding of APIs, databases, server-side programming and system integration
• Familiarity with backend programming languages/frameworks such as PHP, Laravel, Node.js, Python, Java, or similar
• Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL or other relational databases is an advantage
• Understanding of Git/version control and basic deployment processes
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills
• Able to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
• Fresh graduates with strong technical skills and relevant projects are encouraged to apply
