Who We Are

Raicom LLC is the company behind a portfolio of high-volume ecommerce consumer brands. Behind those brands is a lot of technology we built ourselves, because off-the-shelf tools couldn't keep up with how we operate.

Our dev team is small, and it builds and runs the internal systems the whole business depends on, including operations, fulfillment, customer-facing services, and the integrations that tie them together.

Many of these systems were built quickly by a very small team, and they work. Now they need owners who can take them over, harden them, keep improving them, and give them the attention they deserve to have continuous business impact.

That's where you come in.

The Role

This is a systems role, not a ticket-closing role. You'll take ownership of a real production system and run it end to end by understanding the business problem, deciding what to build (and what not to), shipping it, watching it in production, and fixing it when it breaks.

You'll work with our CTO, company executives, and other developers, and you'll be handed real ownership from the start. The work is mostly backend, with some internal UI along the way. Over time you may branch into other systems across the business.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Take ownership of an existing production system, learn how it works, and ship new features to take it to the next level.
  • Build and improve the internal tools our operations teams run on every day.
  • Connect systems through APIs, webhooks, and scheduled jobs so data moves reliably between them.
  • Automate manual processes wherever a person is doing a computer's job.
  • Own deployments, monitoring, and production incidents for the systems you run.
  • Learn how the business makes decisions and bring your own input to those decisions.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong backend fundamentals in TypeScript/Node.js, with real experience designing APIs, data models, and integrations.
  • Experience running something in production: deploying it, watching it, debugging it under pressure.
  • AI-native, with real fundamentals. You use tools like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor to move faster, and you understand, review, and test everything you ship. You manage your AI usage like a professional, not like an open tab.
  • Business-minded. You want to know why something is being built, and you'll speak up when there's a simpler way to solve a problem.
  • Proactive. You don't wait to be told what's next, and you surface problems before someone else finds them.
  • A clear written communicator. Most of our work happens in Slack and in writing. Your updates are timely, the right length, and written by you.
  • Fluent, work-level English, written and spoken.
  • Bonus: ecommerce experience, Shopify development, or relational databases at production scale.

Tech stack: TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, serverless cloud functions, SQL and NoSQL databases, and a lot of third-party APIs. You don't need to be an expert in all of it. Strong fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly matter more than checking every box.

Honestly, the ideal person has owned a backend system in production and cared about it after it shipped, uses AI to go faster without letting it think for them, and is just as curious about why the business works the way it does as about how the code works. Your resume doesn't need to be impressive. Some of our best hires had the shortest work histories and the most obvious passion.

What You'll Get

  • Starting pay of $3,000/month, as a full-time employee.
  • Real ownership of a production system that a high-volume business depends on, from week one.
  • Work alongside our CTO, company executives, and other developers. No layers, no politics.
  • A warm, close-knit remote team that actually likes working together.
  • A fully paid-for, one-week annual trip across the world to meet with the team.

Most developers spend years maintaining one small piece of a system someone else designed. This is a chance to own the whole thing, see exactly how it moves the business, and grow your expertise and pay as fast as you're willing to. We can't wait to work with you.

Is This Role Right for You?

This role probably won't suit you if you want every task fully specified before you begin, or prefer to hand work off once the code is written. You'll investigate unfamiliar systems, ask questions about how the business works, and stay involved through deployment and real-world use. You don't need every answer on day one, but you do need the curiosity and persistence to find them.

Hiring Process

We may hire multiple developers from this listing. Shortlisted candidates will complete the same paid trial project, and successful hires will be matched to systems across the company based on their strengths.

How to Apply

Submit your CV along with short, specific answers to the questions in our application form. We read every answer. Concrete details about what you did stand out; polished generalities don't.

  1. Tell us about something you've struggled with at work and how you overcame it.
  2. Tell us about a time you solved a business problem with your work. How did you decide what to build or design (or not)?
  3. How does AI fit into your workflow today? Give one example where it helped you, and one where it got something wrong and how you caught it.

Optional (but they get your application reviewed first):

  • Intro Loom (under 3 minutes): Tell us a bit about yourself, what you're looking for, and why this role.
  • Project Loom (under 5 minutes): Walk us through a project you're proud of: what it solved, what you built or designed, and what you'd do differently. No script or editing needed.

Make sure anyone with the link can view your Looms.
