Backend Developer (Java)

Ascendion is looking for a talented Backend Developer with strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and AWS to join our growing technology team.

In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy scalable backend applications while working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. You will be involved in solution design, API and microservices development, event-driven architecture, automated testing, and production deployments.

Qualifications:

• With 5 years of strong hands-on experience in Java development and solid experience with Spring Boot and building backend applications.

• Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture and experience with Event-Driven Architecture and asynchronous messaging.

• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, AWS Cloud services, Docker.

• Experience deploying and managing applications using Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.

• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, clean code, security, scalability, and performance optimization.

• Experience participating in code reviews and mentoring junior developers is highly preferred.

• Actively participate in technical solution design based on product and business requirements.
• Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance backend services deployed in AWS.
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with SRE and DevOps teams to support CI/CD integration and production deployments.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, Gauge, or equivalent testing frameworks.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers.
• Ensure application reliability, security, scalability, and performance.
