What they need
About CloudNurse
CloudNurse is a healthtech SaaS company building an AI-powered EHR/ERP platform for nursing homes
and rehabilitation centers across Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Our platform includes EasyChart
(AI-powered voice, photo, and text clinical charting), CareConnect (LINE-based family care updates),
and a Finance/Billing module purpose-built for long-term care operators. We're a small, fast-moving
team shipping software that directly affects patient care and caregiver workflows.
About the Role
We're hiring a Backend / DevOps Engineer to own our infrastructure and share ownership of the backend
that runs on it. You'll be the person responsible for how our platform is deployed, scaled, and kept
healthy — while also writing the Python services behind a multi-tenant, healthcare-grade product serving
three countries.
This is a hands-on role with real ownership. Our infrastructure has grown fast and needs someone to
take it seriously: connection pooling under load, deploy pipelines that actually gate on tests, container
sizing, and observability that surfaces real problems instead of noise. If you like owning production and
shipping backend features rather than choosing between them, this is a good fit.
You're also joining at an architectural inflection point. We're moving from a single Django application
toward a multi-service platform: Django becomes the system of record and exposes an MCP server; a
separate agentic runtime service (FastAPI or Go) handles all AI/agent traffic against it; and
asynchronous work moves into dedicated Celery workers. You'll help design, deploy, and operate that
split — service boundaries, inter-service communication, and the infrastructure underneath all of it.
What You'll Do
Infrastructure & Operations (you own this)
Own and evolve our AWS infrastructure: ECS, RDS Postgres with RDS Proxy, ElastiCache, S3
Manage infrastructure as code in Terraform across staging and production
Own our CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions — including building proper test gates before deploy
Right-size and tune containers, workers, and database connections for real production load
Own observability: error tracking (Sentry), alerting, and incident response
Improve deploy safety — zero-downtime releases, safe migrations, and rollback paths• Deploy and operate multiple services in one cluster — service discovery, networking, scaling policies,
and per-service observability
Backend Development (shared with the team)
Build and maintain Django/Python services and REST APIs
Design for multi-tenancy, data isolation, and auditability in a regulated healthcare context
Optimize database performance — query tuning, indexing, and schema design
Build out asynchronous task processing with Celery and Redis in dedicated workers
Help shape our move to a multi-service architecture: an MCP server over our system of record, and a
separate agentic runtime consuming it
- Participate in code review, sprint planning, and technical discussions
Required Qualifications
3+ years building backend systems in Python (Django strongly preferred)
Hands-on production experience with AWS — containers (ECS/Fargate or equivalent), RDS, and
networking fundamentals
- Practical experience with Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code, including managing state and
multiple environments
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
Strong PostgreSQL skills — query optimization, indexing, and safe migrations against live data
Working knowledge of Docker and container-based deployment
Experience with asynchronous task processing (Celery or equivalent) and message brokers
Experience running and debugging multiple services that talk to each other — not just a single
monolith
- Comfortable being on the hook for production: debugging live incidents, reading logs and traces, and
fixing root causes
- Strong written English (team documentation and code are in English)
Nice to Have
Experience with Redis/ElastiCache caching strategies
Experience with connection pooling (RDS Proxy, PgBouncer) at scale
Background in healthcare tech, fintech, or other regulated/data-sensitive environments
Familiarity with data privacy frameworks (PDPA, HIPAA, or similar)
Go experience (a candidate language for our agentic runtime service)
FastAPI or other async Python frameworks
Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol), tool-calling APIs, or LLM application infrastructure
Experience operating AI/LLM workloads in production — latency, cost control, retries, and rate limits• Exposure to frontend work (TypeScript/Angular) — helpful for cross-team collaboration, not expected
Spoken Thai proficiency
What We Offer
Competitive salary, based on experience
Real ownership of infrastructure at a company where it genuinely matters
Hybrid work, convenient office location
Provident fund
Health insurance
Snacks in the office
Direct access to the founding team, shaping a product used across Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore
• ESOP participation possible, depending on level and experience
